My art looks at the importance of life and helping those who can’t help themselves−animals.  I want to encourage people to give love to an animal that needs it. The subjects themselves are what influence my art, the emotions I see in them sets the mood for each individual piece.  The often-recurring theme in my animal portraits is the feeling of empathy; the need to escape a dark, empty place and the desire to find love like all of us want.  I hope by creating this series, it will emphasize the vast number of animals that still need help.
